Welcome to Castleton State College Athletics. It is an exciting time to be a Spartan! Castleton is affiliated nationally with the NCAA Division III, and is a member of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletics Conference (ECAC). With 20 varsity sports, a full slate of intramural sports, and many club sports to choose from, there are countless opportunities to compete on several different levels.
Castleton Wins First-Ever ECAC Tournament Game

Castleton, VT-Castleton sophomore, Michael Martinez scored with 41 seconds remaining in regulation to propel Castleton State College to a 12-11 win over Salem State in ECAC Division III New England men’s lacrosse opening round action. (Full Article)
Baseball to Host NAC Final Round

Men's Lacrosse Receives ECAC New England Inviation

CAPE COD, Mass. -- After finishing the regular season with a 16-3 record, Endicott College was selected as the number one seed in the 2008 ECAC Division III New England Men's Lacrosse Championship. The tournament is a five-team field with first round game followed by semifinal and championship rounds. (Full Article)
Women's Lacrosse Receives ECAC New England Invitation

Cape Cod, MA - After finishing the regular-season with a 14-4 record, Bridgewater State College was selected as the number one seed in the 2008 ECAC Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Championship. The tournament is a seven-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds. Bridgewater State receives a bye into the semifinals via the number one seed. (Full Article)
Conley Named NAC Baseball's Top Rookie, Shipley C.O.Y.

Senior centerfield Mike Chamard of Thomas College was honored as the North Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. Chamard led the league in batting average (.388), slugging percentage (.600) while ranking among the league leaders in runs scored, hits and total bases as Thomas finished 6-4 in conference play. Department of Athletics Honors Spring Sports Teams

The Castleton State College Department of Athletics honored the 2008 spring sports teams at an awards ceremony on Thursday night. All five teams were honored for a very successful spring sports season, and team most valuable player awards were given. (Full Article)
