Ivy grew up in Hubbardton, Vermont and recently moved back to the Castleton area. She majored in chemistry at Cornell University and then earned master's degrees in marine biology and education. She has taught chemistry in Vermont, Massachusetts, and England and taught college oceanography on a schooner in the Caribbean.
Ivy is currently working on a master’s degree in Spatial Analysis for Public Health through Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her culminating research project involves investigating the spatiality and temporality of deaths in Boston in 1872. She hopes to graduate in May 2018.
