Marguerite Dibble, CEO of GameTheory, will discuss how GameTheory uses the power of games to seek positive change in the world and how by playing and makings games we can open more doors for gender equality. Games have the ability to move individuals with fun and positive engagement, a unique ability that can be used for great effect in our current day. However, games and game design also provide a unique perspective into the gender roles that often are assigned to boys and girls. How different genders are encouraged to interact not only with games but many systems around us can have lasting effects on their lives. Marguerite will explore what games can teach us about destructive gender roles and more importantly how games can show us a path to better future.
