Dana E. Singiser is the Vice President for Public Policy and Government Affairs at the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. In this role, she advocates for women’s reproductive health care to Congress, the White House, and Health and Human Services. Ms. Singiser has nearly 20 years of legislative, policy and political experience.
Ms. Singiser joined PPFA from the White House, where she worked as the Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs and served as a key member of the President’s team that helped pass health care reform.
Prior to working in the Obama administration, Singiser held leadership positions on President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, as well as then-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign. During the 2008 election cycle, she focused on the women’s vote, first as Director of Women’s Outreach for then-Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign and then as Senior Advisor for the Women’s Vote for the Obama for America campaign. Her other campaign experience includes serving as Deputy Political Director for Governor Howard Dean’s presidential campaign, and as staff on President Bill Clinton’s campaigns in 1992 and 1996.
On Capitol Hill, Singiser served as Staff Director for the Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee under the chairmanship of then-Senator Clinton and Democratic Leaders Reid and Daschle. She practiced law at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld for five years, and served in President Clinton’s Administration, both in the White House and the Department of Commerce.
Singiser grew up in Vermont and received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in International Relations and earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
