Yvonne Daley will talk about her luck as an unemployed young writer and mother of four when she landed a job as a journalist at the Rutland Herald. That led to a career as a journalist writing for many of the nation’s top newspapers and magazines. Over the past 20 years, she has published six nonfiction books and, most recently, her first collection of poetry. After this introduction, Yvonne will quickly segue into a workshop on how to use the tools of the fiction writer to tell true stories in any genre.
In the first workshop, she’ll introduce the basic building blocks of storytelling and how to apply them to telling true stories, including memoir, profile, history, biography, and other subject-based nonfiction.
