This interactive course is designed for middle and high school educators seeking to enhance their teaching practices through the integration of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies. Participants will engage in experiential learning activities that model the very techniques they can modify and implement in their own classrooms to empower students to succeed by leveling up on student engagement, joy, community, connections, and emotional resilience.
Audience: Middle and High School teachers (all content areas) with an earned Bachelor's Degree
Course Goals: Through hands-on participation in the collaborative asynchronous and in-person sessions, educators will:
Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will re-enter their classrooms with a robust toolkit of adaptable techniques and resources designed to build engaged and resilient learners. Educators will be equipped to transform their classrooms into dynamic spaces that foster emotional well-being and academic success, creating a thriving learning community for all students. Specifically they will:

Week 5 - Meet in-person (Personal Reflection Journal/Resource Compilation)
Week 6/7 - Design Inclusive Activities/Tasks
Week 8 - Final Showcase
Jennifer Luck has taught Spanish at Essex High School in Essex Junction, Vermont for 26 years. She graduated with BA in Spanish and a concentration in Secondary Education in 1999 from St. Michael’s College and went on to earn her MA in Spanish at Middlebury College in 2004. Additionally, she worked for two years in the Teacher Apprenticeship Program at Champlain college, supporting emerging teachers in their licensure and practicum journey. Jen is passionate about the critical role that social-emotional well-being plays in education as a tool to increase student engagement, connection and success. Her vibrant classroom community and deep connections with students propel their learning and empower students to succeed.
