The Castleton University Center for Social Justice and Trauma Informed Care (The Center) provides resources for educating the Castleton University campus, Rutland County professionals, and community members in the areas of social justice and trauma informed care. The heart of our work is furthering education on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), to dismantle structural inequality and the trauma it generates.
We work with our campus and community partners to establish Rutland County as a place committed to social justice and trauma informed care with the long-term goal of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Center is a hub where Rutland County professionals can access the resources they need to fill gaps in services. Our Center will serve as a model that can be replicated in other communities with public colleges to best serve the public good of Vermont.
