Castleton Senior Morgan Hart is Instagraming her way through the state of Vermont. With a set goal of visiting all 251 towns across the Green Mountain State before she graduates in May, the History major from Weston, VT is well underway to accomplishing just that.
“I started this goal in August because I love Vermont and I realized there is so much of this beautiful state that I haven't seen yet,” said Hart, who named her Instagram journey ICUVERMONT.
Hart can be seen pictured in all of her posts, usually sporting Castleton University or Spartan apparel, posing with various landmarks and sites in each town. Due to a busy schedule of balancing school and work, she normally takes her road trips on Sundays, averaging about ten towns each excursion.
“I try my best to research each town before I go on a trip and this is usually when I decide where I am going to take my photo,” explained Hart. “I try to do the town's main attraction or a historic site that is there, if the town has neither I look for their town office or a local church.”
With 117 towns under her belt, Glastenbury has been her favorite thus far. Drawn to the abandon town's small population, estimated at under a dozen, she had read stories of the location's haunted nature with several disappearances linked to it.
Only seven months away from walking across the stage at graduation, Hart plans to continue her Vermont themed expedition and posting along the way for all to enjoy. With each trip she is reminded of the true beauty of her home state.
“As cool as it would be to accumulate hundreds of followers, I'm doing this goal so I can see Vermont, and the posts on Instagram are for friends and family to see all the cool things Vermont has to offer that we've never seen or heard of before,” said Hart.
