Castleton University’s Sigma Beta Delta chapter has been recognized with an Outstanding Chapter Award for the 2018-2019 year and student Zijie “Frank” Wan was selected for the organization’s scholarship program.
This is the second time Castleton has earned this distinction from Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration. Associate Professor of Business Administration Bill Godair serves as the chapter adviser.
The Outstanding Chapter Award goes to a select group of outstanding chapters for their exemplary performance in chapter operations and administration. Chapters are selected based on above average member induction rates, submission of a Fellowship Award applicant, submission of a yearly chapter report for the academic year, and Sigma Beta Delta’s overall view of the chapter.
Wan, who was nominated by chapter, was selected for the Sigma Beta Delta Scholarship Awards Program. Award recipients are selected on criteria including academic strength, community involvement, aspirations in terms of educational and career goals, and the difference receiving a scholarship would mean in their life. The honor society gives approximately 30 awards nationally that range from $1,000 to $1,500.
Frank is an Business Administration Major who serves in numerous roles on campus, including senior class president in the Student Government Association and as a community advisor.
