Upward Bound at Castleton University has accepted 37 new participants from Rutland County, VT, and Washington County, NY, this school year.
The program provides an opportunity for 123 high school students to develop the skills and motivation necessary to succeed in high school and enroll in college through academic year activities and a six-week summer program to simulate the college experience. There is still room for eligible students to register for Upward Bound.
Students enrolling in the program must be either a potentially first-generation college student or meet certain income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education. They must also be a 9th-11th grade student at a participating high school.
